Here is the list of possible mistakes to avoid are – Not Having Enough Documents Needed for The Scholarship, Applying to Only One Scholarship Opportunity, and Using Only One Outdated Personal Statement and Essay among others which will be discussed below so that you can get the scholarship at first, second, trial so let’s dive into it:

10 LEGIT REASONS YOU KEEP GETTING REJECTED

1.  NOT ENOUGH REQUIRED DOCUMENTS AND MATERIALS

if you don’t have the necessary documentation needed for the eligibility criteria for the scholarship, you might not win this, please make sure you have them to avoid rejection and this document includes:

  • Degree certification for (masters level)
  • Your secondary or high school certification for (undergraduate level)
  • Transcripts
  • English language test
  • International passport etc.

2. APPLYING FOR ONLY ONE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

These mistakes are commonly made by a lot of scholarship applicants, and just because you like one scholarship does not mean you have to apply to only one of it, there is no harm in trying other scholarship programs, which could be up to 10 to 15 and you are rest assured than one scholarship program will pick you. Go ahead and Explore other options

3. USING ONLY ONE STATEMENT OF PURPOSE FOR DIFFERENT APPLICATION PROCESSES-

Please note that every scholarship program has different themes and different development plans and purposes, which makes it hard sometimes, you can have a constructive statement of purpose and use that to remodify another statement of the purpose application process and make sure your SOP aligns with scholarship program theme, topic or motto.

4. GIVING UP WAY TOO FAST

Remember failures make you an expert already in that field, you no longer operate as a novice but as an expert, come back after failure or rejection stronger than you were before, this time with a winning mentality. don’t give up on your dreams, great names started from failures.

5. NOT ENOUGH WORK EXPERIENCE AND OTHER ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA-

Please remember that every scholarship requires work experience, especially for undergraduate,(you do not need work experience but some application requires it) but if you are applying for a master’s, almost all the university require a 2,3,4, years of work experience and the following can be used as work experience:

  • Job or work experience
  • Internships
  • Volunteer works

6. NOT RESEARCHING ENOUGH ABOUT THE APPLICATION PROCEDURES, DEADLINE, REQUIREMENTS, DEVELOPMENT THEMES, AND PLANS

It’s important to know all about the scholarship process, I mean everything, know the entire details and use that to write a great application, you have blown their mind away with your SOP, and promptness remembers the person assessing your application process is a human being too.

7. GRAMMAR BLUNDERS

Nothing turns a marker or assessment officer off than grammatical errors and blunders, learn to use your words correctly, and check your grammar, spelling, and correct use of vocabulary. Remember the judges or assessment officer can’t see you but they can see you through your words make sure your first sentence should captivate and catch their attention to read more, don’t play pity party in your sop, appeal to strength, not weakness, tell them your experience in a motivating and captivating way. Use your words. And one of the best apps I recommended for this is GRAMMARLY, they have a great free version, and use it to write your SOP.

8. DON’T EVER THINK YOU CAN DO THIS ALONE

Seek help, advice, opinions, and recommendations from experienced people who have won the scholarship program, past and present alumni of the scholarship award, sort for advice, let them review your SOP, and give you tips on how to answer the scholarship interview process.

9. RESEARCH! RESEARCH!! RESEARCH!!!

Use Google, and YouTube, to get more information on the scholarship procedure before applying.

10. TRY DIFFERENT APPROACHES USING THE EXPERIENCE AND INFORMATION GATHERED

PRAY AND BE PATIENT WITH YOUR JOURNEY, YOU WILL SURELY WIN THIS TIME

ALL THE BEST
