The air division of the Nigerian Armed Forces is currently recruiting for several positions in the organization, With roughly 15,000 soldiers and a fleet that includes 8 Chinese Chengdu F-7s, 13 Dassault-Dornier Alpha Jets, helicopter gunships, armed attack drones, and military transport aircraft, it is one of the biggest in Africa.

 

The following are the Job positions below:

 

A JOB POSITION AS AN AIRCRAFT ENGINEER

APPLICATION DEADLINE: 30th January 2023.

JOB TITLE: Aircraft Engineer

 JOB LOCATION: Nationwide

 

JOB ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Candidates must hold an HND, B.Eng, or B.Sc. in one of the following disciplines: mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, aeronautical engineering, mechatronics engineering, electrical/electronic engineering, metallurgy, and material technology, or automobile engineering.
  • Qualifications and Requirements in Academics and the Professions
  • For first-degree holders and HND holders, a minimum requirement for applicants is Second Class Upper Division or Upper Credit.
  • A degree program and credits in English and mathematics are other requirements for applicants. Being computer literate will be helpful.
  • At the time of applying for DSSC, applicants must have a letter of exemption from the NYSC or a discharge certificate from the NYSC.

Where relevant, applicants must be fully registered with their respective statutory professional bodies in Nigeria.

General Instructions For Applicants

  • Nationality: Applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth, and possess a national identity card/NIN or BVN.
  • Age: Applicants must be between the ages of 20 and 30 years by 14 October 2023 (25 – 40 years for Medical Consultants).  Please note the following:
    • Candidates born before 13 October 1993 are not eligible, while candidates born before 13 October 1983 are not eligible for medical consultants.
    • The Exercise is not for serving personnel desiring Branch Commission. Therefore, personnel above 30 years of age (born before 13 October 1993) are not to apply.
  • Marital Status: All applicants must be single.
  • Height: Minimum height is 1.66 meters for males and 1.63 meters for females.
  • Medical Fitness: Applicants must be medically fit and meet the Nigerian Air Force medical and employment standards.
  • Local Government Area Attestation Form: Applicants’ Local Government Area Attestation Form must be signed by a military officer from the same State as the applicants, not below the rank of Wing Commander in the Nigerian Air Force or equivalent in the Nigerian Army and Nigerian Navy or a Police Officer of the rank of Assistant Commissioner and above, or
  • Local Government Area Chairmen/Secretaries and Magistrates from the Local Government Area of the applicants, Registrar, DVC, Provost of applicant Institute.
  • The Local Government Area Attestation Form must be accompanied by the passport photograph and photocopy of the signees’ Driver’s Licence National ID Card or International Passport. The signee is also to authenticate behind the applicant’s presentation of original credentials:
  • Those who are selected must present their original credentials to the selection board during the interview process in order to be reviewed. These are some of the credentials:
    As stated in Bullet Point 6, eight current passport-size photographs must be stamped and countersigned by an officer of the appropriate level (Local Government Area Attestation Form).
  • Birth certificate or declaration of age, original and copy.
  • Educational and professional certificates should be original or photocopied.
  • Original and photocopy of the applicant’s local government’s or state of origin’s indigenous status certificate.
  • Attestation of Good Character signed by an officer of the appropriate rank as described in paragraph 6 in both the original and a photocopy.

Forms of Applications Completed: The following documents must be printed after submitting the application forms:

  • Slip of Acknowledgement.
  • Form for Attestation of Parents/Guardians.
  • Area Local Government passport photograph.
