2023 Government of the Republic of Mauritius Fully Funded Scholarships for African Student

For full-time, on-campus undergraduate (diploma/degree) and postgraduate (MPhil/Ph.D.) programs tenable in public Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Mauritius, the Government of the Republic of Mauritius is offering scholarships to deserving students who are resident citizens of member states of the African Union or of African Commonwealth countries.

SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The African Union or the African Commonwealth member nations’ residents who meet the following requirements can receive scholarships from the government of Mauritius:

• In order to apply for undergraduate programs, candidates must be older than 18 and younger than 26 on January 1, 2024.
  Candidates for Ph.D. programs should not be older than 40 on January 1, 2024.
• A full-time on-campus program (diploma, degree, MPhil, or Ph.D.) at a public higher education institution in Mauritius must have already been applied for by applicants.

The scholarship will last for the shorter of the maximum time frame shown in the table below or the minimum time frame for the course.

SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS

• Successful applicants will receive assistance from the Scholarship in paying their tuition as well as living expenses while attending school in Mauritius. The scholarship also includes round-trip airfare for the return trip. This is applicable for both initial study-related travel from the country of origin and returns travel after the studies have been successfully completed.

• This scholarship covers the annual payment of tuition and other study-related costs (such as general/annual fees and miscellaneous fees, etc.): SN Those who profit from the applicable rate Total fee payable: MUR100,000 for local fees in SADC countries, MUR160,000 for international fees in non-SADC countries (as of 15 November 2022, 1 USD = MUR44.25).

TO APPLY

Only the Nominating Agency in charge of handling scholarship applications in the applicant’s country of citizenship may submit applications under this Scheme. Then, the nominating agency, which is frequently a division of the ministry of education in the applicant’s country, will select and endorse the applications of up to FIFTY (50) eligible candidates (the distribution of nominees from undergraduate and/or postgraduate programs is at the discretion of the nominating agencies), and they will submit the duly filled-out application forms in accordance with the table below.

August/September 2023 intake
May 19, 2023, is the deadline for electronic submissions.
Printed copies must arrive in Mauritius by May 26, 2023.

International Students in Spain: 2023 Barcelona Graduate School of Economics (GSE) Scholarships

The Barcelona GSE is able to provide complete scholarships and tuition exemptions to international students who are interested in enrolling in the institution’s degree programs.

The only candidates who will receive a financial offer have excellent academic records. Candidates will be considered for all funding possibilities if they submit a complete application by January 15. Any funding that is still available will be considered for applications submitted after that deadline.
