DAAD Scholarships in Germany for Development-Related Postgraduate Courses

 DAAD scholarship is a German-funded scholarship for international students from developing countries who will like to study in any university in Germany, in a postgraduate or Master’s degree at a state or state-recognized German university

 

APPLICATION DEADLINE: Aug-Oct 2022 (annual)

TYPE OF SCHOLARSHIP: Fully funded

COUNTRY OF STUDY:  Germany

ELIGIBLE COURSE OF STUDY: Masters or Ph.D. courses in Economic Sciences/Business Administration/Political Economics; Development Cooperation; Engineering and Related Sciences; Mathematics; Regional and Urban Planning; Agricultural and Forest Sciences; Natural and Environmental Sciences; Medicine and Public Health; Social Sciences, Education and Law; and Media Studies.

ELIGIBLE COUNTRIES: International student (click on this link  to check eligible countries)

SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS: The scholarship benefits include monthly payments of 861 euros for graduates or 1,200 euros for doctoral candidates; payments towards health, accident, and personal liability insurance cover; and travel allowance unless these expenses are covered by the home country or another source of funding.

The scholarship duration is 12 to 24 months (depending on the particular institution) for Masters and 42 months for PhD.

Orange Knowledge Programme in The Netherlands

The Orange Knowledge Programme is a fully funded scholarship program that provides funded study opportunities to international students especially students from developing countries. In order to advance the development of the capacity, knowledge, and quality of both individuals as well as organizations in the field of higher and vocational education, Mid-career professionals who are nationals of -and living and working.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: 22 Mar/28 June/11 Oct 2022

TYPE OF SCHOLARSHIP: Fully funded
COUNTRY OF STUDY:  Netherlands

 

ELIGIBLE COURSE OF STUDY: Scholarships are available for a selection of short courses (duration 2 weeks to 12 months) and master’s programs (duration 12 – 24 months).

SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS: The scholarship is a contribution towards your costs of living and costs such as tuition fees, visa, travel, insurance, etc.

To apply, the applicant needs to first check the eligibility criteria carefully, click here to check OKP information for applicants, and also check with your employer to know if they will nominate you for the scholarship. 

Please note that the applicant will have to apply to the institution first which in turn will nominate for the scholarship you can the OKP qualified course of your choice for application procedures. The Dutch institution you applied to will give you all the information needed on the various steps involved in the application and selection procedures,

The 3 candidate application rounds for individual scholarships are:

  • Round 1: 2 February-22 March 2022(for courses starting between 25 July and 21 November 2022)
  • Round 2: 11 May-28 June 2022(for Short Courses starting between 21 November 2022 and 20 February 2023)
  • Round 3: 31 August-11 October 2022(for Short Courses starting from 20 February 2023 onward and must be completed before 31 August 2023)
